Hmm, I'm not quite sure what you are asking but wiki has the air time and what not for each bow if that's what you are getting to.

Long/Flatbow for pulling.
Recurve Bow for interrupting.
Hornbow for spiking.

Hornbow for missing, in my experience. Is that one of those PvP thangs?

For PvE, Long/Flatbow for pulling, Recurve for everything else.

I'll just give you the general stats, and you can decide for yourself...
Shortbows have the shortest range(Duh, just a bit short of earshot), but have a fire rate of 2 sec(Which is good, for a bow) and have an arc similar to hornbows and longbows.
Hornbows have range of a bit bigger than earshot(So spellcasting range, approx), they have the slowest fire rate, at 2.7 sec, but have 10% armor penetration, which makes them good for spiking. Aside from spiking, they're utterly useless.
Recurvebows have the same range as Hornbows, with a 2.4 sec fire rate, and a much faster arrow(thus higher accuracy and lower arc) than any other kind of bow, making them the most versatile. A recurve can be used for pretty much any Ranger build.
Flatbows have the longest range(exactly the same as longbows), a little farther than casting range, and have a fire rate of 2 sec. However, they have a slow arrow, thus high arc, thus low accuracy. But if you take read the wind, or favorable winds with a flatbow, this one downside is pretty much negated.
Longbows have same range as flatbows, and have a fire rate of 2.4 sec, with a slightly lower arc than flatbows. People like to use these a lot for pulling, even though a flatbow is slightly better(The faster fire rate lets you gtfo of there faster). Imo, Longbows are trash, a lot of people seem to have this fascination with using them, because they have decent accuracy at long range, but you're probably never going to bother with accuracy at long range(And if you are, you'll need Favorable Winds or RtW, in that case, just take a flatbow), as the arc is still too big for interrupting, and far too inaccurate for spiking.

I'd advise you to keep a Recurve as your main bow, a Flatbow as your secondary, and a Hornbow for when you need to spike.

Recurve.

Longbow for extremely long range. Otherwise recurve or flatbow.

Look on wiki about this, wiki has a chart with range + flight time etcetera.

Isle of the Nameless has this NPC: Master of Bows.

Isle of the Nameless is an excellent place to try out the different properties of the different bow types.

really depends on your setup.

I use read the wind mostly. So for me it's ALWAYS the flatbow (PVE).

Hornbow spike can be nice and pretty sustainable if you build around its shortcomings.

They're slow as hell. The solution to that is to take bow attacks with activation times (since they're all faster than the bows refire).

[[Sundering Attack] and [[Penetrating Attack] work nicely here. For PVE combine with [[Expert's Focus], [[Asuran Scan] and [[I am the Strongest!] for pretty sick damage. Add in [[Prepared Shot] for extra energy and go nuts (Prepshot doesn't have an activation time, but if you use it while your other two attacks are recharging, it uses up your downtime for a decent energy return so you can go right back to spamming your other attacks).

Or you can replace PrepShot with [[Marksman's Wager] and [[Dual Shot] (or [[Triple Shot (Kurzick)] if you have the rank)...

And you have two optional slots to play with if you're going H/H and don't need a res.

Agree but if you go for marksman wager is very dangerous to go with hornbow.
Recurve Bow is the best choice.

recurve is your general purpose bow.
flatbow is for pulling, or if you pvp, they are good for taking out npcs because of their long reach and firing speed.
longbow is used for hitting that target far away in pvp. in pve, flatbow is generally considered to be better.
hornbow is useless. well, most of the time.

Flatbow if you don't have read the wind, favorable wind etc is usless, it miss more than hornbow.
I prefer slowest refire rate but more accuracy.
I any case i go with recurve bow in pve so...

For PvP my sets of preference are:

Poisonous Recurve of Fortitude
Crippling Recurve of Fortitude
Poisonous/Vampiric Flatbow of Fortitude

for PvE it doesn't really matter, I usually go BHA with flatbow, since BHA has increased arc already, and thus is unaffected by the bows arc difference.

Hornbow = fail everywhere, in my opinion.

flatbow... killing npcs long ranged / creeps ...also combined with rtw makes it reasonably fast at rupting

recurve... best for rupting and generally a bow all rangers must have

longbow... a few leet skins for this bow not much use in my opinion except for longbow spikes

shortbow...trash imo...

hornbow...only good for spiking
